This Shala has been a place I've been looking to find for a while, then when I decided to make the jump, I've been happy I did. She is open and I feel that the studio is a comfortable and safe place to go and practice. (Please do not worry about injury in her classes. I know there are many articles about coaches pushing their students too far in Mysore, but I am confident, based on experience that she does a good job with teaching variations of asanas, so long as you mention that a certain position causes pain, so I would not worry about that here.) Aside from that, I invite you to come and try it. Ashtanga has a wonderful, long and healthy tradition that continues to this day and there is a reason for this. Come and see why. I think all styles of yoga are great, but I feel confident that Ashtanga; especially, through the Mysore method helps to open up the other 6 limbs of Ashtanga. Come in, try for a week, talk to Asja and others about anything on your mind. Most everyone is open. Come and see what you think about it and how you feel.
